FAQ
Boarding
Setup
Is the kennel building climate controlled?
Yes. Our kennel building is climate controlled to help keep our guests comfortable and safe throughout the year, regardless of the weather outside.
Are all four current kennels the same 6' × 8' size and setup?
Our current four kennels include two 6' × 8' kennels and two 5' × 10' kennels. Each kennel provides your pet with their own comfortable private space.
What size are the private outdoor runs?
Our private outdoor runs are approximately 1,500 square feet and feature a unique triangular layout, giving each guest plenty of room to explore, play, and enjoy time outside.
Can dogs move between the indoor kennel and private run throughout the day, or is access scheduled?
Your pet has access to their private outdoor yard throughout the day. The doggy door is opened first thing in the morning and remains open during the day, allowing your pet to move freely between their indoor space and private yard as they choose. The doggy door is closed at night for added safety and security.
Will the 10 new kennels have the same 6' × 8' private-run setup as the current kennels?
Yes. Our 10 new kennels will each be 6' × 8' and will feature private outdoor runs designed to be similar in size and shape to our current yards. Our goal is to maintain the same private, spacious, and comfortable experience throughout the facility.
Are dogs ever required to participate in group play?
No. Group play is never required. Every guest has their own private kennel, private yard, and TV. This allows dogs who prefer their own space to enjoy their stay without being required to interact with unfamiliar dogs.
Can a dog remain completely separate from unfamiliar dogs during its stay?
Yes. Our facility is designed around private boarding. Your dog has their own individual space and private yard, allowing them to remain separate from unfamiliar dogs throughout their stay.
Are reactive dogs accepted on a case-by-case basis?
Yes. We consider reactive dogs on a case-by-case basis. Because our boarding setup provides private kennels and private yards, we are able to accommodate many dogs who may not do well in traditional group-boarding environments.
What types of behavioral issues would prevent you from accepting a dog?
We evaluate behavioral concerns on a case-by-case basis. Our private setup is specifically designed to help families whose pets may have behavioral challenges, including dogs who are uncomfortable around other dogs. However, we may decline a dog if we determine that their level of aggression presents an unsafe situation for our staff or other guests. We also do not accept pets who require diapers.
Do you have any breed restrictions?
We do not have blanket breed restrictions. Each pet is evaluated individually based on their temperament, behavior, and ability to safely participate in our boarding environment.
Do you require a meet-and-greet or temperament evaluation before accepting certain dogs?
Yes. A meet-and-greet or temperament evaluation is required if your pet has previously been dismissed from another boarding facility or has demonstrated aggression toward other pets. This allows us to better understand your pet's needs and make sure Sleep Rover is the right fit for them.
How often does each dog get outdoor/run access?
Your pet has access to their own private yard throughout the day. The doggy door is opened each morning and allows them to go in and out as they please during the day.
Is individual play or one-on-one attention part of every stay?
Yes. Individual attention and playtime are part of every stay. We provide dedicated playtime before dinner each day, along with plenty of love, attention, and interaction throughout your pet's visit.
Do owners provide their dog's normal food?
Yes. We require families to bring their pet's regular food from home. Keeping your dog on their normal diet helps prevent stomach upset and is especially important for pets with food allergies or sensitivities.
Can you accommodate special diets or supplements?
Yes. We are happy to accommodate special diets, feeding instructions, and supplements. Please provide detailed instructions when you check in your pet.
Can you administer medications?
Yes. We can administer medications according to your instructions. Please provide the medication in its original container along with clear dosing and administration instructions.
Can owners bring bedding, toys, or other comfort items?
Absolutely! We encourage families to bring items that help their pets feel comfortable and at home. Favorite beds, blankets, toys, and other familiar comfort items are welcome.
Are there any special accommodations for puppies, senior dogs, or dogs that have trouble settling in?
Yes. We understand that every dog has different needs. We have ramps available for older dogs and provide additional patience, attention, and reassurance to dogs who may be nervous or anxious. Our goal is to build trust and help every guest feel safe and comfortable.
Owner
Communication
How are the daily photo/video updates delivered — text, Messenger, email, etc.?
We provide pet families with updates at least twice a day, including photos and an update on how their pet is doing. Updates are provided through our normal customer communication channels so families can stay connected and enjoy seeing how much fun their pup is having.
Are daily updates included in the standard boarding rate?
Yes. Daily updates and photos are included with our standard boarding rate. We want you to be able to relax while you're away knowing that your pup is happy, safe, and enjoying their stay.
Can owners request additional updates if they're worried about their dog?
Absolutely! We understand that leaving your pet can be difficult, especially for first-time boarding families. We are happy to provide additional updates when requested because we want our pet parents to enjoy their time away without worrying about their pups.
Safety
& Trust
What is your normal cleaning/sanitization routine?
We perform daily kennel cleaning and maintenance, along with a thorough deep cleaning and sanitization between each guest's stay. Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment is one of our top priorities.
What vaccinations do you require?
For the health and safety of all our guests, we require current Rabies, DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus), and Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccinations. Keeping vaccinations current helps protect your pet as well as the other dogs staying with us.
Do you recommend flea and tick prevention before my pet's stay?
Yes. We highly recommend that all pets be current on a veterinarian-recommended flea and tick prevention before arriving at Sleep Rover. Because your pet will have access to outdoor areas, preventative treatment helps protect them from fleas and ticks during their stay and helps maintain a healthy, comfortable environment for all of our guests. If fleas or ticks are found on a pet during their stay, we will contact the pet parent to discuss treatment options.
What happens if a dog has a medical emergency?
Your pet's safety is our highest priority. In the event of a medical emergency, we will contact you and follow your emergency instructions. If veterinary care is needed, we will take your pet to your requested veterinarian or the nearest appropriate emergency veterinary facility.
Do you have a preferred veterinarian or emergency vet?
Yes. We maintain a list of nearby veterinary facilities, including an emergency veterinarian that is open 24/7, so we are prepared to act quickly if your pet needs medical attention.
What backup systems are in place if power goes out or an automated kennel door has a problem?
We have a backup generator and keep additional kennel supplies on hand so we can continue caring for our guests in the event of a power outage or equipment issue.
Can prospective customers tour the facility before booking?
Absolutely! We would love to welcome prospective families to Sleep Rover. We encourage you to come tour the facility, see our setup, meet us, and ask any questions you may have before making your reservation.

About
Sleep Rover
How would you describe Lendsey and Jeremy's experience caring for dogs?
At Sleep Rover Dog Boarding, your dog isn't just boarded—they're treated like family. We believe boarding should feel more like a staycation than a traditional kennel experience. Each pup has their own private room with a TV, a doggy door leading to a covered porch, and a private yard to explore. There are no traditional crates and no forced group play—just a safe, comfortable environment where your pup has the freedom to play, lounge, relax, and nap on their own schedule. Lendsey and Jeremy take pride in getting to know each guest's individual personality and making every dog feel loved and cared for while their family is away.
How long has Sleep Rover been boarding dogs?
Sleep Rover Dog Boarding officially opened to the public on January 1, 2025. Since opening, we have had the privilege of welcoming many wonderful pups and their families through our doors, and we are excited to continue growing our Sleep Rover family.
What surrounding communities do you consider your normal service area?
Our primary service area includes Cherokee, Pickens, Bartow, Cobb, and Fulton counties. We also welcome families from surrounding areas who are looking for a safe, private, and personalized boarding experience for their pets.
